And we’re back in this week’s Stumblebum Brigade with an offering of the subtle and classy Infinity necklaces. They are carefully crafted with handdrawn textures and with the little diamond accents on the infinity symbol, these necklace are both beautiful to complement an every day look as well as a formal outfit. Infinity is available in a combo pack for L$ 400 and as single necklaces for L$ 250 during this week’s Stumblebum event.

The Stumblebum Brigade is a weekly, week long event. Every Saturday at 12:00am slt – 11:59pm slt the following Friday, a group of designers will place exclusive items out in thier stores that will be available for the duration of thier week only. After the week is over the exclusive items are picked up and put into inventory never to be seen again!

alaMood Boutique ~ Pink Shirt Day – April 14

At some point in our lives, we’ve all been touched by bullying. Either, as a victim, or as a bully. A day like today may be only a symbolical action, we might have to wear pink shirts all year long to create enough awareness bullying, but a day like today is a great start!

No pink shirt at alaMood, it’s not our forte… but Jori has made a Pink Shirt Day exclusive of the Siddean Cuff which totally rocks, and there is a HUGE pink gift for grabs at the shop (you can’t miss it!) Oh and… for the occasion, everything pink is marked down to L$ 50 til Friday!

Pink Shirt Day started in a Nova Scotia high school, where a 9th grade boy was being bullied over wearing a pink polo shirt to school. A couple of grade 12 boys decided to take a stand against the bullying and wear pink in sympathy for the boy who had been so mercilessly prodded at. They went to a local discount store and bought 50 pink shirts, and distributed them amongst the other boys in their high school. They stood up for their fellow classmate and against the bullies, and made a real difference in someone’s life.

In a place like Second Life, Cyber Bullying runs rampant. In a virtual world where it is so easy to be anonymous and hide behind your pixels, many people find it the perfect environment to attack and belittle others. Unfortunately, this can lead to real life emotional distress, even to those who “disconnect” their Second Life and first life.

It is time that we all take a stand against bullying in all its forms. Why, in a community so small, should there be so much vitrol and mudslinging, when, if we band together, we become stronger?

RFL Clothing Fair: alaMood Goes Milan

It’s that time of the year, SLRFL is starting again. The biggest fundraiser on the grid, with almost 300k USD raised last year for cancer research, creating awareness and providing relief to cancer patients and their caregivers is back, even bigger, and hopefully better yet! alaMood is honored to be a part of the opening event of SLRFL ’10: the RFL Clothing fair. Come visit us in Milan, and drop some L$ in our RFL exclusive vendors. All proceeds of these pretties will go directly to the American Cancer Society. All donations are welcome, but if you donate the indicated price in the vendor, the item will be yours. No refunds will ever be made on donations in the RFL vendors, they are all gracefully accepted for the cause.

Make sure you also pick up some of the (10) grab bags. For as little as L$ 25, they contain some really nice surprises! And while you there, feel free to pick up the freebies as well!
